Volunteering at the Hope Center

We would love to have you help at our Center. For more information call 765-285-1244 or stop by. If you would like to volunteer, please fill out the application, sign and return the Statement of Principle. Please prayerfully consider serving at the Hope Center. Each volunteer position is a life-changing experience for you as a volunteer.


Receptions
The receptionist is the hub of our daily needs. As a receptionist, you would schedule appointments, answer the phone, and welcome clients to the Center. Duties also include making and filing charts and other paperwork, scheduling appointments, making copies, etc. The receptionist may also help provide community information to the clients.


Advocate
As an advocate, you would sit with the client for peer counseling sessions. The sessions would include sitting with the client for 30 minutes to an hour, showing them a video, and talking to them about it. After making sure they understand the topic, you will talk to them about their life situation, and help them figure out the best option for their individual situation.  Other duties may include helping the client find local services to help with financial situations, housing, WIC, and other local services. Peer counselor is also give spiritual guidance and prayer when the client is accepting of it.

 

Nurse
As a nurse at the Center, your duties may include peer counseling, instructing clients on self-administered pregnancy test, collecting specimens for STI testing, giving the clients results, calling in prescriptions to the pharmacy, and notifying the state a positive test.

If you are interested in becoming a Board Member, please fill out the Board Member Application and sign and return the Statement of Principle.


Principal Functions
Hope Center is governed by an independent Board of Directors. The Board of Directors shall consist of at least five members, one of which is the Executive Director of the Hope Center. The board is committed to the Lordship of Jesus Christ and His principles for the success of the Center. In addition to administering with his common conviction, the directors each provide guidance and support in areas such as finance, administration, and policy, according to their individual fields of expertise. Board members should be committed Christian to demonstrate a personal relationship with Jesus Christ our Savior and Lord, and exhibit a strong commitment and dedication to the pro-life position and sexual purity.


Responsibilities
The members of the Board of Directors of the Hope Center shall:
Establish policies for the operation of the Hope Center, ensuring that the bylaws, policies, and procedures are being followed.

Set the centers overall program from year to year and engage long range planning to ensure and establish its general course for the future.

Establish fiscal policy, with budgets and financial controls.

Provide adequate resources for the activities of the Hope Center through direct financial contributions, and a commitment to fundraising. 

Select, evaluate annually, and if necessary, terminate the appointment of the Executive Director.

Develop and maintain a communication linked to the community, promoting the work of the Hope Center.

Regularly attend all scheduled board and other meetings. Support the Hope Center and the Executive Director in regular prayer.
